When humans run at full speed our heads tend to bobble about because of the movement of our feet and the speed we are traveling. Cheetahs are the fastest mammals on earth, with running speeds hitting up to 80mph, God designed their spines to hold their head in place and remain still as their body moves up and down like a wave rapidly. This is so they can maintain the sight of the prey in front of them, who most likely can run around 30-50mph.
Imagine if we were as focused as a Cheetah? No matter what type of hell had broken out around us, we never take our eyes off the promise. No matter how our jobs, family, and the world pull at our emotion we keep our eyes on the promise.
It’s really not that hard when you think about it. You just have to keep in mind that most of the distractions in our lives are from the enemy. Keep in mind that 95% of the things we worry about never come to past. The people in our life that caused us to become depressed, sad, and angry, are is just a decision away, but we have problems making the decision.
Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
